DISCOVER OUR JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN PALMA
A different kind of Japanese, from the very first bite.
Ten years in the heart of Santa Catalina, reinventing Japanese cuisine. Here you’ll find nigiri, sashimi, and rolls — yes — but also dishes you won’t find in any other Japanese restaurant.
We start from Japanese technique and ingredients, then transform them our own way: predominantly Mediterranean inspiration, with nods to other parts of the world.
Sit down and see for yourself: this isn’t what you’d expect from a Japanese restaurant.

Frequently Asked Questions and Inquiries
Everything You Need to Know
Why are you called 'Japo' if you don't serve traditional Japanese food?
Because Japanese food is at our very root: nigiris, sashimi, tataki, and traditional knife skills. What makes us different is that we don’t stop there. We take that starting point and give it our own twist with local products and inspiration. That’s why we’re a Japanese dining experience like no other.
Are children allowed at the restaurant?
We only accept reservations for guests aged 9 and older.
Do you have options for people who don't like raw fish?
Yes, our menu features plenty of cooked dishes—like gyozas, tataki, and rice bowls—specially created for Japanese cuisine first-timers or anyone who prefers to skip raw fish. We take pride in being the go-to spot for people who aren’t usually fans of traditional sushi.
Do you accept group bookings?
As an intimate restaurant, we aren’t able to accommodate large groups. That said, feel free to get in touch with us and we’ll check our availability to do everything we can to seat your party.

What people say about Japo Santa Catalina
More than ten years in the Santa Catalina neighborhood add up to a lot of shared tables. Here’s what those who’ve already tried our cuisine have to say: locals from Mallorca who keep coming back, and travelers who discovered us along the way.
Spectacular dinner! I’d definitely come back just to have the tartare brioche again—what a masterpiece!! The gyozas melt in your mouth, and the sushi is delicious too. Extra special care in the service you receive. They were super attentive and the timing between courses was spot on. Can't wait to go back already!

Exceeded all our expectations! Everything we tried was remarkably good, but the highlights were definitely the red tuna toast and the aged beef sushi, which blew us away. You can really tell the high quality of the ingredients and the care put into every dish. On top of that, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back! 😍

A restaurant worth coming back to. Everything was delicious—there wasn't a single dish we didn't love, and everything was spectacular, even the off-menu chili crab with sobrasada. Seriously, you HAVE to put that on the main menu! The gyozas were some of the best we've ever had and the sauce was amazing; the rolls were fantastic too. On the pricier side, but the quality is top-notch.
